Google is going to offer its designers 3D-printed iPhone photos to help them create their designs for an envelope-printing app.
The news comes via Google’s Design Team blog, which describes Google’s new iPhone 3D printer as “the first 3D printed iPhone photo-printable product” that “will make it easier to design iPhone envelopes and other envelopes.”
The company claims that the app will also be “the most useful for the design and design-related business applications of iPhone.”
The app will work with the iPhone’s default 3D scanner, which is a 2D printer.
It’s not clear what Google’s goal is with the app, but we suspect it will be to add more 3D printers to the iOS platform.
Google’s designers will be able to use the 3D model of the printed iPhone to design their designs, which are then uploaded to Google’s website.
The app’s designers also have access to a number of templates that will help them produce their designs with a minimal amount of time and effort.
