AUSTRALIA’S most expensive 3D printing hardware maker has unveiled a new retail concept in Australia.
Walmart Australia announced it would soon offer 3D printers to local retailers, including its own.
Walmart Australia announced on Monday that it would be opening a 3D-printing facility in Australia for local customers.
Walmarts new 3D facility will be open by October 2, 2017.
Walmart said it would offer a range of printables to local customers from a range in its online and brick-and-mortar stores.
The Walmart Australia website says 3D Printers will be available at the facility for “a limited time only”, while the website also says the facility will have a 3-D scanner to allow local customers to print “customers and products”.
The site also says there will be a “digital store” for customers to “get their hands on their own 3D prints”.
The company said it had been “proud to provide our local customers with the latest in 3D Printing technology” for over a decade, with its current 3D machines able to print the original “perfect” artwork of an image on a flat surface.
In recent years, 3D printed artwork has become a popular item at the retail industry.
While Walmart has previously offered similar services in the United States, the online retailer has not offered a 3d printing facility in the UK since 2015.
